Florals for Spring? - Styling the print of the season

Spring is in full bloom and your outfit should reflect the turn of the season, on this seasons agenda: florals, the iconic print is nothing new but is fresh off the runway, even if Miranda Priestly said in The Devil Wears Prada " Florals for spring" as if it is the most unoriginal print of the bunch but in my defence, florals should be your print of choice this season, from Versace to Valentino this season is all about floral.

Blossoms flourished the catwalks for the S/S 2019 collections, with their being a floral print fit for everyone and the high-street soon followed with trendy flower designs on everything from blouses to skirts - there is no excuse not to incorporate the print into your spring/summer wardrobe.

My Top HighStreet Picks

The perfect summer dress, the Verona dress is part of Topshop's Loves Collection that is quoted to be a collection full of wardrobe staples " that no fashion-forward girl should live without". This tea dress designed with puff short sleeves is perfect to wear during the day, paired together with white sneakers adds a element of streetwear to a very girly look. Wear together with a shoulder bag also from Topshop is perfect to add a touch of 90's style as these shoulder bags are very on trend right now as the rise of vintage handbags being seen all over Instagram.

if island chic is your spring fashion inspiration then this floral mini skirt from Topshop is perfect for a spring/summer day, paired together with this on trend milkmaid top from Miss Guided will be your go-to look for the season. For accessories its all about mini bags, the trend taking over the high-street as every store is taking on their own spin on these tiny bags, this fan shape one from Topshop goes perfectly with this look. The brown wood silhouette takes on the classic wicker basket shape but with a modern twist due to the black inside and strap. keeping with the black accessories i paired these black summer-ready flat sandals that will be a staple for your summer wardrobe, the cross leather cross over style with the gold detailing around the sole adds a modern twist to a classic shoe.

My favourite trend for spring/summer is taking a simple floral tea dress and adding a pair of chunky sneakers for during the day but then turning it to the perfect evening look by grabbing a pair of heels. A dress like this is something so versatile and can go from day to night with a quick shoe change. This long sleeved floral red dress from Pretty Little Thing can be styled in so many different ways and it is a perfect staple in your spring/summer wardrobe, pair with a black shoulder bag and either sneakers for a streetwear vive r a classic pair of heels for a summer evening.

For spring/summer its all about taking staple pieces and being able to take them from day to night, and make sure you add a touch of floral to balance out the neutrals from winter.
