Golden Globes 2019 | Best Dressed on the Carpet
Award season is off to a fashionable start with the Golden Globes held in Los Angeles, which saw some of the biggest names from the big and small screen walking down the carpet in hopes of coming away with some of the top awards.
Last years ceremony saw the strict all black dress code but this year there was a sense of empowerment in the times of the TimesUp movement and bringing attention to the change many wish to see in the industry, guests seen wearing bracelets and ribbons that read TimesUpx2 showing their support for the prominent cause.

I have mixed opinions about the gowns on the carpet this year, lessons in 1930 glamour came with Alex Borstein bringing a dress and hairstyle which would most likely be worn for a role in a 1930's film and something that is extremely outdated , with the placement of the brooches on the arms it had no relation to the overall gown and made it seem like a last minute attempt to add excitement to a fairly simple gown.80's silhouettes from Charlize Theron in Dior, with a black and white colour block silhouette with a keyhole cutout seemed very basic and not expected from Dior. On the theme of different colours, Anne Hathaway wore a Elie Saab leopard gown with two different fabrications, something that is not often seen on the red carpet and with good reason.
Vera Wang really blew me away on this red carpet, dressing Constance Wu in this nude gown which looked almost like underwear with a burnt orange belt around her waist, which showed a clear contrast between the material, the dress itself being made from a sort of tulle and the belt looking almost like velvet. Whether or not the belt had to be included in the gown is questionable but I assume it was a styling feature more then being specially made to wear with the gown.
Louis Vuitton brought futuristic vibes to the carpet dressing Indya Moore in a sliver crochet styled mini dress, being easily recognisable as the work of Nicolas Ghesquière and being from their SS19 collection, paired together with sliver hells and a clutch.
Another one of my favourite gown was this gold embellished form fitted gold dress by Atelier Versace worn by Irina Shayk, the model is known for wearing this similar silhouette to many red carpets including the Met Gala.
