FALL FASHION: WHAT TO WEAR THIS SEASON

As the leaves begin to turn, we leave behind our summer dresses and pick up our cosy knit jumpers and long-lined coats to keep us warm for the season ahead. Autumn for me, is the best time of year, I feel more inspired with clothing, there are endless possibilities when it comes to your fall wardrobe.

I have collated some of my favourite autumn/winter trends this year and ways of styling them to create the perfects capsule wardrobe.

Layer it up, I mean this quite literally, autumn fashion is all about practicality, there is no need to suffer through the cold when the perfect knit and coat exist.

Take this camel long-lined coat from Topshop (£69) and style it together with a cream knit turtle neck and light-wash mom jeans for a casual yet chic look.






Power dress your way through this season by incorporating a classic structured blazer, a staple in anyone's wardrobe. A blazer is a versatile piece in your wardrobe, it can turn a casual outfit into something made for the office. Style this grey double breasted blazer from Topshop (£49) with black denim jeans and turtle neck jumper for the ultimate autumn power dressing number.

Balenciaga

If you want to layer it up for the colder days, take inspiration from Balenciaga  who sent their models down the runway in multiple layers that poked fun at the classic scene from Friends where by Joey trolled Chandler by wearing every piece of clothing he owned. Balenciaga did the exact same thing however added a four figure price tag to the item. Scale down this trend by adding two coats for a practical winter statement.



Leather loves.
This seasons fabric of choice is leather, well faux leather to be exact. Fill your wardrobe with everything leather: coats, bags, jeans, skirts, you can never have enough this season.

Styling leather isn't as difficult as it may seem, a classic leather skirt (below from H&M) can be worn both day and night. Worn with a thick knit jumper, tights and black boots can easily become your winter uniform, or lose the tights, throw on a classic black pump and you've got your go-to evening look.

These boots are made for walking. These knee length boots (£44.99 from Public Desire) are the perfect go-to fall boot, they work well with skirts and dresses, if you're struggling to let go of your summer wardrobe. A pair of knee length boots have been seen on models such as Kaia Gerber (as shown below) so take note from this teen style icon and incorporate them into your wardrobe.

Take notes from your favourite celebrities street-style looks for the coming season, be like Kendall and dress up denim with a blazer or be Hailey Bieber and chose leather trousers as your wardrobe staple.
